On a backpacking trip six years ago, grad student Addison King slipped off a ledge in what should have been a fatal fall. Instead, she was saved from death by an entity of hope. The being, which called itself 'Aura', explained to Addison that it was seeking a champion on this plane to inspire and protect others. Aura bestowed on Addison a five piece set of regalia infused with their power. When wearing the Regalia, Addison has demigod-level powers based in hope, light, and beauty, which she uses as best she can to be a force of good in the world.

She was walking on the trail, and then... Her eyes bolt wide and she leaps to her feet - or tries to; her legs give way and she collapses against the rock face. The young woman looks up. She stares up at it, eyes shimmering with wonder. A sense of calm and hope eminates from the figure and washes over her. Suddenly, an inner font of strength finds its way to the fore. The woman furrows her brows and speaks with a direct Texan drawl.

Calling itself ‘Aura’, the resplendent being bestowed upon King a five piece set of jewelry called the Regalia. Through it, King learned to channel a ration of Aura’s power. Fusing her own compassion, insight, and sheer Texan stubbornness with the radiant, protective magics of her benefactor, King would take her first steps away from a normal life and towards a future as an argent-and-gold-clad champion for love, hope, optimism, and humanity.
