An orphan who grew up hopping from one foster home to another, Michael was a frequent juvenile delinquent. All that changed when he was fostered by John and Claire Stratford, who saw his great potential and gifted mind. With their help, Michael became an engineering savant. They adopted him and Michael legally changed his name to Micah since that’s how his parents pronounced his name.
In college, while visiting Portal Corp on a research assignment, Micah Stratford was absorbed into a malfunctioning portal. He ended up in what can be described as a limbo plane and irradiated with cosmic particles. After scientists rescued him, he learned he developed powers.
Micah can absorb ambient electrical charge. Energy is then converted, providing him with superhuman strength, agility, resilience as well as incredible energy projection and electrical control.
He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and was recruited by many top companies. Instead, he operates an auto shop in King’s Row working on his true passion: classic cars and motorcycles.
BACKGROUND
Early Life
Michael Mansfield was only a baby when both his parents were killed during a Rikti invasion near Los Angeles, California. With no immediate or extended family available, he was placed in foster care. By the time he was in middle school, Michael was in his fifth foster home.
Most of his foster parents offered little discipline, something the young, precocious, highly intelligent Michael took advantage of in the form of petty theft and illegal selling of stolen goods. With too many juvenile delinquencies under his belt, he ended up in a group home by the time he turned 12.
In a serendipitous moment, Michael was caught trying to steal John Stratford’s wallet. Soon after, John and Claire Stratford took in Michael as a foster child. The Stratford’s knew Michael’s parents, as they were both from Pasadena, and were horrified he ended up in various foster homes. Paul Mansfield was a gifted engineer and mathematician, and Sarah was an excellent psychologist. John saw in Michael a similar wellspring of intelligence and inquisitiveness.
The first year was difficult as Michael resisted any form of structure and discipline, but the Stratford’s were loving, kind and patient. John funneled Michael’s energy into science and combined with his and Claire’s commitment, they won Michael over. Before entering high school, John and Claire adopted Michael. To honor his new legal parents, Michael became Micah because John tended to pronounce his name Micah.
By 10th grade, Micah was a straight A student in the top of his class. He channeled his remaining time into boxing, martial arts and working on cars with John. Claire, a lover of music, guided him towards playing the violin and guitar. He graduated as valedictorian and enrolled in Stanford University on a full scholarship.
The Accident
While a college student, interning with Portal Corp, Micah was caught in the gravitational pull of a malfunctioning portal. He was teleported into a portal before scientists could shut it down. Instead of being sent into another multiverse plane, Micah was caught in a limbo state of charged particles and radiation. Scientists theorize he was ported into a possible precursor universe.
Micah was trapped in the proto universe for approximately two hours before Portal Corp scientists were able to reengage the portal to retrieve him. During those two hours, Micah’s body was inundated with radiation and charged energy. He should have died instantly but instead his body absorbed the energy, forever changing his body chemistry.
He was admitted to the hospital and monitored for a few days. The radiation levels dropped, and the doctors deemed him healthy and there was no permanent damage. The changes in his molecular structure happened a few months after the incident. With some guidance from his parents, Micah managed to gain proper control over his electricity generation.
There were some reservations of him becoming a hero, but everyone felt he needed to use his powers to help others. With his parents’ blessing, Micah became Storm Dragon. Wanting to protect his parents, Storm Dragon maintains his secret identity.
APPEARANCE
Micah is Caucasian and generally considered a handsome man with classical features. He has dark hair and striking blue eyes. In addition, due to his extensive weight training and boxing, he is in peak physical form.
Due to the regenerative qualities of his electrical charge, Micah is unable to maintain any permanent changes to his body such as piercings or tattoos.
PERSONALITY
In a public setting, Micah is generally mild-mannered and unassuming, wanting to stay in the background. He does this to maintain his secret identity.
But he is naturally very inquisitive. Once he begins to feel comfortable around a circle of friends or family, his personality becomes much more relaxed, and he loves to ask questions. Micah believes one of the best ways to develop knowledge is simply by asking, even if it seems silly or intrusive.

Storm Dragon can fly at incredible speeds. With focus, he can reach speeds beyond orbital velocity, allowing him to escape the Earth’s gravitational pull.
WEAKNESSES
Toxin Vulnerability
Micah’s electrical shields and physical durability afford him tremendous resistance to all forms of harm except toxic and chemical attacks. He’s not completely vulnerable but his resistance is significantly less. In addition, Micah has low tolerance to ingesting drugs and toxins. He’s easily inebriated with small amounts of alcohol.
Moral Code
Micah works by the book, and he is very rigid with his stance. Knowing this trait will allow clever foes to manipulate him.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Mechanical Engineering
Micah has bachelor’s and graduate degrees in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. He is very handy and can perform many blue collared repair jobs. As an auto repair shop owner, he is very knowledgeable of car and motorcycle mechanics.
Boxing and Martial Arts
Due to his superhuman powers, he no longer boxes as an amateur but previously, he was a very good boxer. Some thought he could box professionally, but Micah stuck with his academic studies.
He has also learned judo and taekwondo, although not nearly as good as his boxing skills.

John and Claire Stratford
Micah’s adoptive parents are kind, generous, supportive and compassionate people. They are the main influence in Micah’s life and molded him to become the man he is today.
The Stratfords are exceedingly wealthy and comes from old aristocracy and can trace their lineage to British royalty. John Stratford has ancestorial land in England that houses Stratford Manor and multi-generational inheritance funds. He was also an exceptional cardiovascular surgeon. Currently, Micah is unaware of his parents’ vast wealth beyond his father’s money from his days as a doctor. He knows they are well off, but he does not know of the inheritance money nor the holdings in England.
Blaze Fury
Marlene Fischer, aka Blaze Fury, was also involved in the Portal Corp accident. She, like Micah, also developed powers. In her case, her powers manifest as fire control.
Due to their shared common bond, they are good friends and know each other’s secret identity.
