Jackie O'Neal was a struggling comedian with stage fright, new to Paragon City. To make ends meet, he agreed to be a test subject for Crey Industries. Their experiments made Jackie stronger, faster, and more agile, and gave him the inborn ability to teleport short distances. Using his new abilities, he staged a breakout from Crey, and nabbed a few of their inventions along the way-- such as his Spring-Shoes, which allow him to leap great distances, and his Extendo-Stick, an extendable metal staff that can be collapsed to fit in a special compartment in his glove. Now, he fights crime as the colorful crusader, the peculiar protector, the wisecracking warrior-- the Kook!
