Ultcirnian origins
Origins from the Beyond
Ultcirnia...
An planet of technological wonder, filled with biology that are unknown and beautiful that it's unique in their own right. The inhabitants that populate this earth like planet is the Ultcirnians, near human beings that are evolved from crystals. Each of those children of the light above were derived from Houses, Sel'ka for instance is one of the pioneers of technology and adventure. Tionis is one of those people, the power that enhances those technology of Ultcirnia is called the Crysifica. They were the crystals that increase the powers of those wonders, it was the reason why this world continued to live to this day. But the elusive one of all is called the Solis Crysifica, an beautiful crystal whose powers are based on the sun, it gives life to plant life. Tionis wanted to make sure that this crystal is found before any rogue elements do. So he formed the team of explorers to retrieve this sun like crystal.
Tionis, the father of the infant, Talana along with a couple of adventurers, Leonia, Tavos, Arlns and Kalos went through trial and error to get this legendary crystal as it would be dependent on Ultcirnia's survival and prosperity; he had a dream that his daughter would be a hero of the universe along with many others from different planets that could help save this galaxy from the Coming Storm that is headed their way. Tionis woke up and sees that Tavos has betrayed him for his own survival. He would bring him to justice for what he's done but first things first, the Solis must be retrieved. The leader of the explorer group, Tionis lapse in and out of consciousness while the voice of mysterious origin spoke to him in his dreams. Tionis knows that it is none other than the Solis Crysifica that is speaking to him, it wanted to bond with him temporarily until a permanent host can be found. And so, with the Solis Crysifica, Tionis returned back to the house of Sel'Ka.
The Rite of Passage
Two months have passed since that journey, Tionis built a spaceship that could hold an infant within it's cockpit; at first, he wanted his daughter to have a beginning here on Ultcirnia but an call prevents him from having Talana to live with her parents, hoping for a better life for his daughter. Before the day of the Great Sail, Tionis heard a voice from the Solis Crysifica that told him that this baby would be a powerful host; he agreed with this voice on one condition, to be permanently silent. This crystal honored the end of that deal, becoming silent forever; the Solis fused within Talana's heart, bonding with it. Talana had little notice of it but she could be a strong host of it's powers.
The day has come...
The child was boarded inside this small spacecraft, the computer inside just told the baby what the ship needed to go. It flew out of the aerospace of Ultcirnia and to space, where it floated for months. In space, an Vanguard space station just spotted this unknown ship. The two Vanguard operatives, Desmond Cash and Basal Fortwood was ordered to take this ship for further investigation. Basal wanted to destroy this spacecraft, seeing it as Rikti tracking device but Desmond ordered him not to, as it could contain alien life in there. And so, the ship was taken to the station. From there, the boss discovered that it contains a female infant. She has tufts of brownish red hair and she has beautiful blue eyes. She has a disarming smile at the few of the operatives of Vanguard. It's almost as if she knew that they're a friendly bunch.
Life on Earth
An interesting time in the Vanguard Base
Roswell Vanguard Base
Sometimes after the Vanguard operatives came to Earth along with the spacecraft holding the infant, they report to the Dark Watcher about the findings involving this weird space carrier. The Watcher looks at the child for a minute; he decided to keep her around, at least until they send her to an orphanage. Some of the Vanguard were against the idea but others were in support of her around; the infant girl's life is... interesting to say the least, Vanguard scientists discovered that she learned the 12 different languages in under an hour, wrote an Essay on pre-historic life after she learned alot from it from books that the Dark Watcher have stored in his collection. Due to her physiology, this child is quite a fast learner.
The Vanguard scientists then confirmed their suspicions; this infant wasn't human. But an alien, she came from a race of people that evolved from crystals. A faraway planet that she's born from? Ultcirnia. There are rumors that are circling around that this planet wanted to ally with Earth to push back the Rikti invasion on Earth but they have some problems at their home planet. At least it sent a gift in a form of a young child, mostly to have her taken care of by her adoptive parents and mainly, to protect her adoptive planet. Just as her people intended. Just as her parents have hoped.
Two years have passed without a hitch, the child is now 3 years of age. She learned alot since her time at the base and the Dark Watcher decided on taking her to adoption in order to be with the parents that she can cherish while she's young. This child is sad that she don't want to leave her new friends but it had to be done. The child was taken to the Foster Home in a car, ironic considering that the Vanguard is a military corporation. They have to babysit this alien girl, though she has human skin. This girl will pass as one of their own.
Selina Ashland F.K.A Talana Sel'Ka.
Talana, no. Selina is now 11 years of age. She enjoyed her life as a adopted child of Gregory and Gillian. Selina was good friends with The Dark Watcher, even treating him as a father figure as well as his adopted dad, Greg. She dreamed of becoming a hero when she grew up as a woman, having read her comics all her life. Selina aspire to be like Miss Liberty, Statesman, Hero One and Sister Psyche. Even learned of their part of the Rikti War, being the repelling force of the invasion. She have long to be an interviewer as well, having been inspired by her adopted father. How did she get adopted by the family of two? One might ask.
Some time ago, Gregory Ashland at the time as a news reporter, wanted to interview the orphanage's leaders on other parents adopting superhuman children who lost parents due to their jobs, the Rikti war and the superhero careers. It was then that, the news reporter look at this particular blue eyed toddler. She looked at the man with a short scruffy beard, green eyes, a small scar on his left cheek and some wrinkles due to age. Gregory wanted to adopted this strange girl, the orphanage's matriarch wanted to know what her name if he adopt her? What's Gregory's name for his daughter? Selina.
But school is different, most of the girls were jealous of the intelligence that the young Selina is possessing. They mercilessly mocked and teased her for her smarts, beauty be damned. She was branded as an outcast those days. You know the old saying: "Anxiety kills all things that are beautiful"? Selina developed some of it while having festered into something worst in the future. That one day would her bubbling anger finally explode. One of the classmates finally made a prank to humiliate Selina by spilling chocolate milk on her entire body. It, unfortunately worked. But instead of being a sobbing wreck, Selina is enraged, so enraged in fact, that she lashed out on the one responsible, Fridda Winters, by punching her jaw, unintentionally dislocating it along with breaking a few teeth and a nose, making it bleed.
The news spread around the school, because of the loss of temper. Selina was suspended for about a month, the vicious punch wasn't fatal but it was suspension worthy. It was then she developed some deep seated anxiety and insecurities about herself due to the relentless mockery of her intelligence; she wanted to fit in but the mean girls wouldn't allow her..., it was then Gillian, her adoptive mother, gave Selina a lecture about the time where her insecurities get the better of Selina but she'll get pass them with a smile on her face and she'll shine brighter as the stars from space.
A Father's death
Selina became a teenager. At first, her first years of high school worked well for her, she studied hard for her exams. Planning to graduate into collage, but if she could dream of one day becoming a hero for the world and beyond. She will..., but in her late teen years would her life change. Selina have heard of this message: "Your father, Gregory Sylvester Ashland has Lung cancer and it slowly spreading towards the heart. There is nothing that we could do to lessen the infection." Devastated, Selina ran to her father's hospital room where he's a shadow of his former self, skinny, weak, cancer-ridden and in pain. Greg's voice was ravaged by such pain, that it was reduced to a whisper. He whispered slowly to Selina's ear to visit the Vanguard Base and they'll tell you everything.
It was two days later, her adopted father died of cancer. Selina was at peace with herself but was sadden by this turn of events, there is one day that she could do: go to the Vanguard base at Roswell. It was there she encountered the Dark Watcher, Selina calmly wanted to know her true origins about her home planet, her birth parents and about the weird crystal things. The Watcher revealed everything about the Ultcirnian home planet, her family from this world and more about the Crysifica. Selina was shocked about this to the point where this glowing crystal revealed it's power, and it is magnificent. This has been a time to process this information but eventually she'll come to terms with her identity.
Coming to Terms

She learned something about herself that hasn't been public in a long time. It's true that she came from Ultcirnia, but she has a crystal that is embedded inside her? Her powers was just unleashed inside of her by accident, it nearly destroyed the Vanguard base. True, it has some funding that the soldiers required to rebuild but Selina? She wanted to be a normal girl, this intelligence have earned her ridicule and disrespect but it came from some alien biology that Selina possessed at birth. She wanted to believe that heroism can be made with life changing events but it requires hard decisions. She have decided to think for a moment, if she wanted to do some good with her powers, how would she become a powerful being in her own right? Is it, beauty? Brawn? Brains? Somewhere in between those three? The third option is a best choice for her. Eventually, She decided to be a hero.
Selina saw a crime that is in progress in the Roswell Bank, a robbery. She uses a makeshift outfit that consists of goggles, a spandex T-shirt, dark blue jeans and a red bandana mask that is covering the lower half of her face. From there, she flew and stop the robbery without the usage of the Solis Crysifica. The civilians cheered at this vigilante for this heroic deed. Many have heard rumors of this comet like girl stopping crime in New Mexico however she could. But the very first encounter with a supervillain changed everything.
Selina was woefully unprepared. On her first day, she's used to beating small time crooks but this? This is different. Four hours ago, the vigilante, Selina confronted this man known as Albert Manco or Titan of Synn. He lead a gang of metahumans, he once had transformed himself into a Hulk-Like creature by using those drugs known as GOODD (Great One of Death and Destruction) but he's a normal man. Selina was beaten within an inch of her life by this supervillain, he left her there in a battered and bloodied heap. Naturally, it took a short time for her body to recover but Selina was embarrassed by the fact that she lost to that criminal. She would need to prepare for this supervillain, and Selina will be ready for him.
A few weeks have passed since that day, Selina wanted to utilize her Ultcirnian mind to her advantage. She knows that it can take brains and brawn to win a battle of attrition with a villain. Selina have heard that the drug, GOODD is an agent that requires dopamine to translate adrenaline into muscle gain and increased strength. The outlet of this drug is a tube that's inserted from the brain to body. The Titan of Synn used whatever time to appear to continue his plan to secure his place as kingpin of Albuquerque. It was there that Selina confronted him again, her body's endurance and even strength worked for her in clashes with this beast but this time, she has come prepared. Her mind is a weapon and she utilize it by exploiting this wannabe kingpin's weakness: the drug tube. With the Solis Crysifica activated in small bursts, she snatched the tube. Making Alberto feeble, Selina knocked him out. It'll be the first of many supervillains to come for her.

Powers
Ultcirnian Physiology: A being born from a planet of Ultcirna, Starheat was given the gift of superhuman strength, speed, agility, intelligence of that of a super genius, very limited invulnerability. When used well, Starheat can prove to be a match against any foe.
Solis Crysifica: This crystal was of the Ultcirnan origin, because of this; it has the ability to generate the energy that came from Sunlight. It could protect the user from increasing danger, it also gain the users ability to use solar energy as a projectile. In other words, that crystal is a powerful weapon.
Weaknesses
Insecurity: In spite of her outgoing personality, Selina is... insecure about her intelligence. The years of being an outcast in her childhood would do to her self esteem.
Umbrus Crysifica: It's origins are a mystery, the Umbrus is darkness in a crystal. It can also harm Starheat when getting close to it.
Ill-tempered: Selina isn't quite known for her calm when mentioning her father or insulting her directly or indirectly but she's working on that part.
Cocky: Selina can be a bit cocky when she's on a giving end of the fight, and that would come to bite her back.
Abilities
Gifted intelligence: Her Ultcirnian biology have granted her an powerful intelligence. Selina has photographic memory and combining with her fast learning would make her smarter than most.
Moderate hand to hand combat: Selina's experience in superheroism have earned her some skill in close combat, she also learned in martial arts movies. (Just don't tell her that...)
Personality
Sassy, strong, and beautiful. That's what is been described of Selina or Starheat. An intelligent woman, she has a usually idealistic point of view of life when her life isn't. Selina usually had a blunt but admirable personality, her insecurities about her intelligence often is a proof of that. She often cracks jokes whenever she encountered some trouble just to maintain her calmness. But sometimes, Selina gets serious whenever there is a much graver danger. Selina is, in reality, a humble woman that wanted to do good in life. Sometimes, she's pragmatic, often working with vigilantes that worked outside of the law and villains that aren't murder crazed who wanted to save the world so that they could conquer it later.
