In Galaxy City there was a purveyor of magic, who managed to slip in from under MAGI's nose a rare find, She obtained a gargoyle egg, which she wanted for her personal collection and study. During the Shivan attack, her shop was smashed by meteors and she was killed, but her death and the destruction of so many magical trinkets caused the egg to rapidly hatch. WIthin minutes, a gargoyle ruptured from the wreckage, taking on the vague image of the dead magus. Gargoyles often take on the attributes of their environment, and as the area was urban, Gargirl's initial appearance is similar to "urban camouflage". If she enters new environments, she will blend into them in a way similar to a chameleon.
