Character Information
History
Nadare “Nancy” Homura (焔群 崩) was a modern girl raised in a traditional family of fire mystics. Choosing to seclude themselves from the conflict, the Homuras did nothing to combat crimes or make use of their abilities. It was only when the Shivan meteors came crashing down, that everything was too late for them. Being the sole survivor, Nadare regretted doing nothing, and swore to protect the innocence with her magic.
Initially juggling between school and amateur hero-ing, she eventually dropped out to focus on the latter. She found herself accumulating hospital debts, forcing her to take up multiple jobs. Hopping from job to job, apartment to another, she eventually landed as a cook at a soup kitchen, one that also allowed her to sleep in a spare room.
Due to her rogue hero beginning, she had the habit of not following rules, and eventually earned the nickname "Accidental Fire" from her many excuses for the casualties. Finding it amusing, she chose to adopt it as her official moniker.
After repeatedly foiling the Family’s plans, they finally had their revenge on her in a later conflict. Nadare overestimated her capability and was overwhelmed by them. They filmed her being unmasked and humiliated, then circulated the video to all her enemies. After her friends suffered the consequences of her identity being revealed, she believes that she and the law aren't doing enough, and finally crossed the line and started doing things her way. Eventually, her name was stripped from the records of heroes, incidentally branding her a vigilante.
Despite her past and the reason she became a hero, after understanding how the world really works and the importance of influence, she isn't afraid to visit Rogue Islands for some mercenary works, gaining infamy along the way.
For better or worse, her times in Paragon City and Rogue Islands resulted in some wide-spread recognition. Even though capable of, she prefers to keep her eyes on the streets, and leave saving the worlds to the big boys.
Personality
Might come off as harsh or blunt, but is good-hearted in nature. Survivor guilt plagues her psyche, believing herself to be unredeemable, causing her to selflessly help others. She avoids long term relationship, for fear of losing them.
Powers
The Homura clan started off as an off-shoot ninja clan that specialised in fire techniques, but over time learnt to wield fire as magic.
Nadare is capable of utilising her inner ki to ignite the air around her, and manipulate them as she pleases. Due to the flame originated from her body, she's immune to its heat, but remain vulnerable to smoke damaging her lung and stinging her eyes. During the early years of being a hero, she has adopted wearing a mask for visibility and breathing reasons.
Homura magic can do more than just playing with fire, but due to her incomplete training, Nadare is limited to what she has learnt before her clan was destroyed.
