Mark Sanford was born and raised in the coastal town of Kingsport, MA. He attended Salem State and moved to Paragon City, RI, after graduation. He freelanced for the Paragon Times newspaper and was eventually hired full-time, covering ''capes'' and other sensational stories.
Born in the salt-kissed town of Kingsport, Massachusetts, Mark Sanford grew up with ink-stained fingers and a restless mind. After graduating in ''Media & Communication, Journalism Concentration'' from Salem State, he followed the scent of stories to Paragon City, Rhode Island—a metropolis where legends walked the streets. As a freelance journalist for the Paragon Times, Mark carved a niche covering “capes” and the extraordinary, chasing truth in a city built on secrets.

He was one source away from exposing a Council plot but the shadowy brain trust did their best to ensure he didn't: they ambushed him as he waited for his contact and left him for dead in a dark corner of Independence Port. Equally intrigued by the Council due to their alliance with the Nictus, a nearby Kheldian called Plerion sensed a kindred soul—a fierce determination for the pursuit of truth—in the dying human before it.
One story nearly cost him everything.

Without hesitation, the two merged to form the hero known as Silver Twilight.
While investigating a shadowy conspiracy tied to the Council, Mark came within a whisper of exposing their alliance with the Nictus, a race of corrupted Kheldians who feed on life energy2. But the Council struck first. In the dim alleys of Independence Port, they ambushed him, leaving him broken and bleeding beneath the city’s neon haze.

Mark Sanford and Plerion's psyches are fully merged in Silver Twilight with neither vying for control nor asserting dominance over the other. He has no preference to his name, responding as easily to his Human or Kheldian ones or his Peacebringer moniker.
It was then that Plerion found him.

A relative infant by Kheldian lifespan standards, Plerion had previously never bonded with a host. As such, Silver Twilight has no Mefnamin or Kurukt forms and can only alter between Human and Kheldian.
A young Kheldian, Plerion had never bonded with a host before. But drawn by Mark’s unwavering pursuit of truth and justice, it sensed a kindred spirit. In a moment of cosmic grace, they merged—not as master and vessel, but as equals. From that fusion, Silver Twilight was born.

He didn't expect a metallic mane but is resolutely committed to righting wrongs with his "azure flame".
Unlike many Peacebringers, Silver Twilight lacks the traditional Nova and Dwarf forms patterned after the Mefnanim and Kurukt races. Plerion’s infancy and lack of prior hosts mean he can only shift between his human guise and radiant Kheldian form. Still, what he lacks in transformation, he makes up for in resolve.

He bears no preference for name—Mark, Plerion, Silver Twilight—all are facets of the same soul. His metallic mane, a shimmering byproduct of the fusion, was unexpected. But it has become a symbol of his rebirth, a banner under which he fights with his signature “azure flame”—a power born of light, tempered by truth.

Now, Silver Twilight stands as a beacon in Paragon City’s ever-shifting war between light and shadow. He is a living testament to unity, resilience, and the idea that even in the darkest corners, truth finds a way to shine.

HISTORY

Born in the salt-kissed town of Kingsport, Massachusetts, Mark Sanford grew up with ink-stained fingers and a restless mind. After graduating in Media & Communication, Journalism Concentration from Salem State, he followed the scent of stories to Paragon City, Rhode Island—a metropolis where legends walked the streets. As a freelance journalist for the Paragon Times, Mark carved a niche covering “capes” and the extraordinary, chasing truth in a city built on secrets.

One story nearly cost him everything.

It was then that Plerion found him.

BASE OF OPERATIONS

Dupont Tower

Rising proudly in the northeastern quadrant of Steel Canyon, Paragon City, the Dupont Tower is a storied landmark—a heritage skyscraper that carries the grace of bygone decades. Its lofty apartments, generously sized, reflect the architectural liberties of an era less governed by modern fire codes.

Once a silent witness to a violent clash of ideologies, the tower became ground zero for a brutal turf war between the 5th Column and the Council. The conflict reached a devastating crescendo, leaving the structure in ruins and claiming numerous lives. In a bold act of temporal preservation, the enigmatic Menders of Ouroboros intervened, reshaping the timeline so that the Dupont Tower remained intact—its fate realigned with the rightful thread of history.

In the aftermath, determined not to let tragedy define its legacy, the building’s owners undertook an extensive retrofit. Today, the tower stands renewed—an enduring monument to resilience, memory, and the unseen forces that guard destiny.

Elysian Island

Far beyond the shores of Paragon City, nestled a thousand miles into the heart of the Atlantic, lies Elysian Island—an enigmatic sanctuary reborn. Now the proud headquarters of the Justice Squadron, the island hums with purpose, standing as a sentinel of peace amid restless tides.

Long ago, this rugged isle was the sacred domain of the Valkyron—a legendary sisterhood of warrior women, forged by the divine hands of the Pantheon to be Earth’s protectors. Their reign ended in tragedy, when Heraclea, a rogue amazon turned harbinger of betrayal, unleashed a grim fate upon her sisters, leaving the island desolate and silent.

It was Icon, in the wake of that darkness, who unearthed Elysian Island once more, its stones still echoing with grief and strength. Under her watchful guidance and the Justice Squadron’s resolve, the island was rebuilt—its halls reforged to serve as a bastion for global defense and unwavering justice.

Guarding this realm beyond the veil of the living is Odessa, a spectral sentinel whose presence shields the island and watches over all who dwell within. Her spirit lingers like the wind—ever-present, unseen, unyielding.

The H

Suspended in silent orbit high above the Earth, the H looms as a gleaming sentinel among the stars—a secondary stronghold for the Justice Squadron, engineered for a mission that transcends borders and boundaries.

Created to expand the team’s reach and effectiveness, this celestial bastion serves as a strategic command post for global vigilance and rapid response. From its panoramic vantage above the planet’s surface, the H empowers the Squadron to safeguard humanity with sweeping precision, watching over every continent from a place untouched by terrestrial constraint.

Elegant, enigmatic, and always operational, the H is more than a headquarters—it’s a symbol of unity, vision, and resolve in the face of a world that never ceases to change.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

Inherent

Kheldians naturally thrive off the energy and essence of their teammates: Peacebringers' metamorphic nature allows them to bring balance to their allies. Kheldians are also naturally gifted with the power of flight.

Luminous Blast

Masters of light, energy and matter, Peacebringers can manipulate Kheldian Light Energy to devastate their opponents. Their luminous blasts bombard their foes with awesome power that often knock down foes and can easily reduce a target's defenses.

Luminous Aura

Peacebringers can generate a luminous aura to grant themselves incredible defensive capabilities.
