Backstory
Jack Ryder had always lived life in the fast lane, as a street racer and adrenaline junkie. But everything changed when he was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor that was growing with alarming speed. He was given only a few months to live, and he was devastated at the thought of leaving his loved ones behind. This sent Jack into a downward spiral and suddenly it felt like his time on this earth meant nothing, and Jack entered a state of depression, distancing himself from the very people he was scared of leaving. One day Jack's sister and brother-in-law came over to check on him and during that moment, Jack's nephew asked his uncle why he was so sad and he told his uncle that everything would be okay. In that moment, Jack realized that if a child could continue to have hope then he could too and because of his nephew Jack gained a newfound determination to live
Determined to do whatever it took to stay alive, Jack began experimenting with alternative medicines and procedures that could help him beat the odds. That's when he met Dr. White, a brilliant scientist who was working on a special procedure using Alpha particles. Dr. White used a special gene-tailoring pod to bombard Jack with Alpha particles, and the results were astonishing. After hours of being inside of the pod not only did Jack make a full recovery, but he also discovered that the procedure had activated a latent mutant gene that had been hidden since birth, giving him extraordinary powers of speed and agility. Dr. White ran multiple test and concluded that this gene that had been awakened allowed Jack to tap into a powerful energy field that surrounds him, giving Jack his amazing abilities, he dubbed this energy field The Velocity Nexus.
Jack realized that not only did he have a second chance at life, but he had a chance to use his newfound abilities for good, to help those that can't help themselves. With the help of Dr. White, Jack designed a costume and became the superhero known as Speed Titan, the fastest and most agile hero in Paragon City. He used his incredible powers to fight back against the city's many threats and protect the innocent, never forgetting the second chance at life that he had been given. With his incredible speed, quick reflexes, and unparalleled agility, Speed Titan has become a legend in Paragon City, a hero who inspires hope and stands for justice in the face of danger. He knows that every moment of his life is a gift, and he intends to use that gift to make a positive difference in the world.
The Velocity Nexus
The Velocity Nexus is a powerful and dangerous energy field that imbues Speed Titan with incredible speed and agility. When he taps into the Nexus, he becomes a blur of lightning-fast motion, able to run circles around his enemies and dodge any obstacle in his path.
But the Nexus is more than just a boost to his speed. It also enhances Speed Titan's perception and awareness, allowing him to see the world around him in slow motion and react to danger with lightning-fast reflexes. With this power, he can out-maneuver his opponents and anticipate their every move.
But the Velocity Nexus is more than just a helpful tool for Speed Titan. It is a volatile and unpredictable force that must be used with great care and skill. If Speed Titan pushes the Nexus too far, he risks losing control and becoming a destabilizing force in the city. His powers can become erratic and unpredictable, making him a liability to himself and others.
Despite the risks, however, Speed Titan continues to harness the power of the Velocity Nexus, knowing that it is his greatest weapon against the forces of evil. He trains tirelessly, honing his skills and learning to control the Nexus with precision and grit. He understands that every time he taps into the Nexus, he is taking a risk, but he knows that the people of the city need a hero who is willing to take that risk and do whatever it takes to protect them.
Rogues
Mach Rush - Mach Rush (Calvin Black) was once a world-renowned scientist who specialized in the field of kinetic energy. He was working on a top-secret project for the government when a tragic accident occurred, causing him to gain his superhuman speed powers.
At first, Mach Rush was horrified by his new abilities, as he found them difficult to control and feared that they would cause him to harm others unintentionally. But as time went on, he learned to harness his powers and use them for his own gain.
Mach Rush soon became known as one of the most dangerous speedsters in the city, using his incredible speed to commit a series of high-profile heists and robberies. He saw himself as a kind of anti-hero, using his powers to fight against the corrupt institutions that he felt had wronged him in the past.
As Mach Rush's reputation grew, he caught the attention of Speed Titan and his team of heroes. The two sides clashed several times, with Mach Rush always managing to elude capture thanks to his incredible speed. But as time went on, Mach Rush began to see Speed Titan as a worthy opponent, and he started to view their battles as a kind of twisted game.
The Brain - The Brain (Ray Price) was once a brilliant inventor and scientist, creating some of the most advanced technology and robotics that the world had ever seen. However, as he delved deeper into his research, he began to become obsessed with the idea of creating the ultimate weapon - a sentient robot that could think and move on its own, with the power to destroy anything that opposed it.
Finally, The Brain succeeded in creating his ultimate weapon, a robot that he dubbed "Brainstorm." The robot was incredibly advanced, with the ability to learn and adapt to any situation, making it nearly unstoppable. With Brainstorm at his side, The Brain began to set his sights on global domination, using his incredible intellect and his vast network of resources to build an army of robots and wage war on anyone who opposed him.
Only one thing stood in his way - Speed Titan, the hero who was able to match his intellect and his incredible speed and agility. The Brain became obsessed with defeating Speed Titan, determined to prove that he was the superior intellect and the more powerful being.
In their many battles, The Brain often used his advanced technology to try and outsmart Speed Titan, using complex algorithms and traps to try and outmaneuver the hero. However, despite his incredible intelligence, he was never quite able to defeat Speed Titan, who always seemed to find a way to outsmart him.
Though he was often portrayed as a mad scientist obsessed with power and control, The Brain saw himself as a visionary, someone who was destined to create a new world order and usher in a new era of scientific discovery. Though he had been defeated many times by Speed Titan and the other heroes, he refused to give up on his goal, always planning and scheming for his next move against his enemies.
Eclipse - Eclipse (Ayana Shaw) was born with a rare mutation that gave her control over darkness and shadows. Growing up, she struggled to control her powers, often causing accidents and frightening those around her with her ability to disappear into the shadows at will.
As she grew older, Eclipse became increasingly isolated and resentful of those who feared her powers. She turned to a life of crime, using her abilities to steal and hide from the authorities. Eventually, she came to the attention of a powerful criminal organization, who saw potential in her unique abilities.
The organization took Eclipse in, training her in the arts of espionage and assassination. She quickly rose through the ranks of the organization, becoming one of their most feared operatives. Her abilities to control darkness and shadows made her the perfect assassin, allowing her to strike from the shadows and disappear without a trace.
However, as Eclipse grew more powerful and more experienced, she began to chafe under the control of the organization. She saw their methods as cruel and barbaric, and she began to question their true motives.
Finally, Eclipse turned against the organization, becoming a rogue agent and using her skills to fight for a better world. She became a mercenary, taking on jobs with the highest bidder and using her unique abilities to perform daring heists and rescue missions.
Though she was often seen as a villainess by the world at large, Eclipse saw herself as just another survivor, trying to make her way in a world that wasn't kind to those with unusual abilities. She saw Speed Titan as an obstacle in her quest for freedom, determined to use her powers to outsmart and outmaneuver the hero whenever possible.
Omega Male - Omega Male (Gavin Stokes) got the brakes beat off of him while leaving the Auction House in Atlas by the Hellions. With stark grievance, he as an amateur chemist, went to his home to create a formula to change his life. As reckless as a Florida man, he injected himself and shook on the floor for hours, emptying his bowels and passing out. When he woke up he was immediately changed - more muscular and athletic. His real power came in the form of speed - able to break the sound barrier, Stokes became his ultimate self, albeit now pretty ugly.
After telling his girlfriend the story of what happened, she called him an "Omega Male," because of his ass-whooping by the Hellions and his willingness to inject himself with random chemicals. He dropped her although all of his friends knew otherwise, and started his quest to sell his new drug, "Redline," as a sports drink, while he took on the name Omega Male to mean "The Fastest Fool Alive."
At the current time, Omega Male works as a heel against Speed Titan, seeing him as the hero nearby when the Hellions jumped him. His girlfriend at the time also stated that Speed Titan was so much more of a man than he would ever be; his frail ego unable to let go. This rivalry with the speedster is a pathetic attempt to cultivate a friend and someone who will understand when he inevitably dies from Redline.
