Character Information
History
Waclaw Kritchinsky was born in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) in 1988, the only child of Stefan and Maria Kritchinsky, with two major handicaps.
First: he suffers from achondroplasia, a genetic disorder whose primary feature is dwarfism.
Second: he is a mutant. His mutation manifested itself when Waclaw hit puberty in 2003, as he started to emit dangerous levels of radioactivity. As a result, his parents were approached by the scientists of the recently-established Pandora Project. The latter created a unique suit of body armour for him in exchange for letting them study the boy. As a result, Waclaw stayed as a long-term in-patient until late June 2020.
Since then, Waclaw opted to rent a small "apartment" (a specially furbished hazmat room) at the Project and had a brief stint with the Founder's Falls branch of Hero Corps.
Personality
Waclaw is very protective of his teammates and the people close to him, to the point of over-protectiveness. However, he has been known to neglect his safety to safeguard that of others.
Even before his confinement to a protective suit, Waclaw was an introverted child who exhibited self-image issues and bouts of depression.
Abilities
Waclaw's mutation is the emission of radioactive isotopes from his body. This power is always on and is used as the primary power source of his containment suit.
Being self-taught, Waclaw developed an aptitude for mechanical repairs and for programming his suit's nanites.
Equipment
Most of Waclaw's powers derive from his armoured containment suit, which is powered by his body's natural radioactivity. Specially programmed nanites maintain the suit's integrity and functions. Waclaw was even able to program those nanites to reconfigure the other layer of the suit to match the colors and patterns of the Hero Corps' uniforms.
In addition to keeping his radioactivity in check, this suit increases Waclaw's strength and durability to meta-human levels and enables him to fly.
Waclaw's radioactivity makes it challenging to work with standard computer devices, as it interferes and damages most magnetic storage mediums. As a result, his suit relies chiefly on hydraulics systems and analogs controls, with the few digital control devices heavily shielded.
Miscellanea
As some people have mistakenly assumed, Kreetch is not affiliated with Crey Industries or its "Paragon Protectors", despite the similarity of his suit's original blue-and-gold color scheme.
(( Kreetch was the first-ever character I played in City of Heroes, all the way back in 2005 on the Protector shard. ))
