Silver Shield
Matt Everett was born into homelessness throughout his life without luxury or peace, Matt Everett grew up in his youth having to fend himself against unwarranted threats in the cold nights of the street of Paragon City, his parents tragically passed because of an infectious illness through supposed food they ate for salvation for what they lacked, Matt throughout his youth was hardened, tough, and seemingly all hopeless, but he was taught by a fellow homeless man who took him in under his care with a simple reminder:
"Life will always be tough, but one must overcome the worst to show those that want you to fall that you cannot."
Unfortunately, the man who took care of him became a victim of a street crime, though Matt was saddened, Matt took the life lesson as a form of installment drilled into him, despite countless street fights, he often overcame them, physically hardening himself through training at local playgrounds and other places, even the gym itself often was open personally for him after the gym owner took notice upon his constant self-care of his physical health, but he also helped others in need, he became known in the urban areas as the "homeless samaritan". He was often helping out those in need, even the privileged ones. He carried on his good deeds, unfortunately, those very good deeds also placed him situation such as one that would place him in incarceration. One night he decided to stay over at a homeless shelter for a place to sleep for a few days, until he noticed distress from a distance of a merely innocent homeless woman harassed by a vile homeless shelter worker, Matt intervened and told him to leave her alone which to the worker told him to go away, he continued to avoid the warnings, as Matt told him to leave her alone again, the worker tried to attack him only to be utterly defeated by him hard. A homeless woman thanked Matt for his heroic deed, unfortunately. Another worker who was ignorant of the situation arrived later when the fight ensued.
The worker immediately called the police and like that. Matt Everett was arrested based on false allegations, which didn't help the fact the worker who was beaten by the homeless man fabricated the situation to worsen Matt's case, despite the homeless woman's protests. The police weren't too keen on taking any words from homeless folks at the end, merely viewing them as junkies. Matt was sentenced to a year in prison, now locked up, one would assume that Matt's heroic deeds were all for nothing as he wasn't rewarded anything back for his valiance and had every reason to become pessimistic...
But not for Matt, he began to work even harder, with the use of the gym in the prison and even some training from a prisoner who is famed for brawls and winning every one of them, saw a dutiful spirit within Matt and without hesitation, took him in as his friend and taught him to fight even more than he was already capable of. After his sentence was finished, he was left in the streets of Paragon City yet again, Matt continued his good intentions of helping those in need, one cold night. He yet again decided to seek shelter but to evade the very problems again, he decided to go to Faultline, where he found an abandoned place, never liking the idea of becoming a squatter, he had no choice but to stay there for few days til the weather changes, but upon going there. He stumbled upon a base, left abandoned, surrounded by cobwebs, and there he found a lifeless android body, Matt was confused and opened closer inspection, he accidentally activated the android, awakened after a long slumber. Matt began to ask the android the questions, to which the android known as The Engineered replied that he used to be a member of a team called The Ideals, though vanquished from the fierce battle that caused the losses of the Ideals against the Black Maven, a sadistic witch.
Matt knew what he must do and needs to be done.
