Personality

Early Life

"For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God
- Romans 3:23

Born in the Etoile Isles, twelve years following the assassination of President Marchand and Lord Recluse seizing control of the Isles and enacting his particular strain of militaristic Darwinism upon the people, life was not easy for the young Adam. His parents barely striving to meet end's meet while villains roamed with impunity, stealing and destroying to their heart's content planted the groundwork for a jaded streak which would linger until much later in his life. By the time he was in his early-to-mid-teens he spent much of his time outside of school working with his father or uncles at the docks or the mines in order to provide a bit more money to the family.

Heeding the Call

"I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears."
- Acts 20:29-31

As I walk through the Valley...

Lord, allow me repentance
Let me hear what I've done
Seek the devil's acceptance
Show her mercy and run
- Have Faith (Aviators)

Epiphanies in the Alleyway

"You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone."
- James 2:241

Powers and Abilities

"The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it."
- Proverbs 22:3
  • Incarnate_Lore_IDF_Common.png Occult Knowledge - McKnight has spent many years studying through folklore and occult text, providing him a breadth of knowledge over many things occult with particular focus on creatures and their abilities and weaknesses, but also many esoteric rituals.
  • Incarnate_Destiny_Ageless_Rare.png Divine Magic - One of the tricks in Father McKnight's arsenal, through his studies of the works of early Christian mystics and practice of Lectio Divina, Father McKnight has learned how to utilize his faith to bolster the resolve of his allies as well as create protective barriers around himself and those around him.
  • DualPistols_SwapAmmo.png Firearms Training
  • Brawling_CrushingUppercut.pngHand-to-Hand Combat - Although preferring to stay at ranged and utilizing a mix of protective and disruptive magic and specialized bullets, his background growing up in the rougher parts of the Isles paired with his basic training in close-quarters combat allows him to hold his own against unskilled ruffians and non-trained combatants. While this does not help against those with super human speed or strength his knowledge of weaving and ducking as well as how to throw a punch often helps avoid getting hit if locked in hand-to-hand with another combatant.

Equipment

  • ParagonMarket_PowerSet_DualPistols.png Penance and Retribution - Father McKnight's trusty handguns, these two pistols are loaded with differing types ammo depending on the circumstance from Holy water filled rounds to bullets containing slivers of Ash Trees.
  • Salvage_CeramicArmorPlate.pngReinforced Body Armor
  • Salvage_Charms.png Rosary

Weaknesses

"Even heroes have the right to bleed"
- Superman (Five for Fighting)

  • Temporary_MedKit.png Mortality - For all of his tricks and tools, Father McKnight is still only human: no superhuman healing, heightened reflexes or invulnerability. Injuries still must take time to heal, and he can be put out of commission for a time by injuries, or even perish.
  • Gadgets_SmokeGrenade.png Poor Eyesight - Being considerably myopic, McKnight requires prescription lenses to see much of anything that's up close, and as such without his glasses he has a hard time seeing, let alone fighting the things that go bump in the night.
