A former Secret Service agent, Unity Black Delta was recruited by Director 6 of the Malta Group, who wanted a Special Qualification Marksman who could operate semi-openly in Paragon City and who could be trusted to protect VIPs and other specialist operatives during sensitive operations. Since his recruitment, he has been a member of the Director's personal pet project, Task Force: UNITY.
Unity Black Delta was wounded and nearly killed during operations against the Cult of Mot in the summer of 2019. An emergency medical nanotech infusion saved his life, but his right (dominant) arm was unsalvageable. With the help of a bleeding-edge nanotech mind/machine interface, a top-tier prosthetic has replaced his lost arm, and he has been cleared for field duty once again.
