When some people lose hope, they turn to any source of comfort they can find. When they are told that the world is to blame, and that they can their revenge and find a 'family' in the process, some people choose to give up who they were before. The Knives of Artemis recruit these people, give them a home, a purpose, and then rent them out to the highest bidder. And if they happen to die? Well, there are always more just like them.
Sister Eris is a high-ranking Hand of Artemis who is currently attached to Task Force: UNITY. She is the nominal leader of the Knives who are currently working with the Task Force, but it is a 'first among equals' relationship rather than that of a superior and her followers.
