Background
Life was normal for Jaden Osiris. She grew up in a relatively stable household in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from high school with honors and was accepted into a great college with Paragon City University--where she had always dreamed of being closer to the home of heroes. Though life certainly took a fork down into the strange after arriving, she nonetheless remained an average person throughout college--making friends with many of the costumed superheroes that also happened to be students of the same school.
She became a marine biologist, spending a lot of free time volunteering at the aquarium and going out on research projects studying aquatic wildlife around the world. For a long while, life was decent and she had very little reason to complain.
During one of her returns back home to Paragon, she became a victim of an industrial accident that put her in a coma from electrical shock. The details of the actual event were unknown, but when she was recovered by EMT's and rushed to the hospital the doctors discovered that any injuries she would have sustained from the accident had already been fully healed by the time she arrived. She was assumed to have been a metahuman that the EMT's mislabeled as normal but being that she was still in a coma they gave her a room to rest until she would recover--and she would do so, six months later.
The discovery of her super healing was, by itself, a shock but Jaden would find during her recovery that anything electronic that she touched with her bare hands would surge and burn out if she couldn't contain her powers. She learned that she developed the ability to essentially be a superconductor for the electrical energy around her. She was able to harness this energy to send bolts of lightning to strike foes and transmit electromagnetic waves around her to soothe and energize allies to keep them in the fight. One benefit is being able to tap in to the electrical energy around her to allow her to run at near-hypersonic velocity.
Following discovering that she now had powers, becoming the kind of person she idolized, she immediately set about to work. Fortunately for her, being in a city where superheroes were a common fact of life made it exceptionally simple for her to adapt to her new lifestyle. She quickly made contact with trainers and costume designers around the city to form her identity. Combining her abilities with her love of sharks, the name came easily for her--and she would, from then on, be known as Static Shark.
Personality
Jaden is a simple person with simple needs. She considers herself outgoing, easy to speak with - and exudes a warming and charming personality with people she interacts with. She translates this well into her superhero work, being easy to approach and disarming even to some of the most hardened criminals. Through this she feels herself better suited in a "support" role for her allies, staying in the back making sure they're kept on their feet through the electromagnetic fields generated from her energy transference abilities. Very rarely does she get cold with a person, and even when she does, she warms up really quickly after the fact. She's usually not one to start a fight unless the person absolutely deserves it.
Powers
As Static Shark, Jaden can manipulate the electromagnetic energy present around her, and through the experiment having gone rampant is able to generate a constant field of this energy to fuel her abilities. Through manipulation of particles, she can transfer these energies from one target to a selective group of people around her - mainly, her allies and comrades. Through her manipulation of the electricity around her she's also capable of directing those currents as kinetic blasts condensed into generation fields on her gauntlets, to help concentrate them properly.
Probably because of the experiment dousing her in particles, she is also able to run at super-speed and jump great distances and height with enough momentum.
