Solifire is a small, four-legged dragon whose scales are an iridescent mix of purple, blue and black. His eyes are bright green, with cat-like pupils. His horns look as if they are made of crystal, and likewise for the spikes lining his back, neck and tail. The plates along his underside are a metallic silver. His wing membranes are in a gradient from purple, to blue, to bright green, with eye-spot markings, much like a peacock.
He is most well known for being a literal, fire-breathing dragon who either can't, or won't, change to more a humanoid form. His small size and bright coloration makes him seem nonthreatening to most, which is an advantage he uses frequently.
Historical Notes
Known Abilities, Skills, and Powers
- His saliva is acidic towards non-organic materials such as metal or stone. He does not use this in battle; he uses it to consume metal, which he says strengthens his scales.
- He is capable of flight for short distances.
- The crystalline structures that are his horns and spikes functions as stores of magic. He can harvest (eat) magical items, rendering them non-magical, and use their energy later. For this reason, he is informally known as someone that others can offload their cursed items onto - though this isn't without a cost. (See 'weaknesses')
- He is, as previously stated, able to breathe fire.
- He can conjure fire magic to both hurt others and heal himself, though his ability to do this depends on how much magic he has stored.
- He is able to levitate some objects, teleport other objects and store them into a pocket dimension which he can summon at will. He is also capable of enchanting objects. There are limits (See 'weaknesses')
- His horns and spikes will, if removed or broken, eventually regrow - sometimes in a different shape. This effect is not immediate, and can take weeks or months to regrow.
- He can see ultraviolent light and there are air sacs visible in his body when he steps into a medical scanner; there is some speculation that he is an evolutionary offshoot of something similar to birds or non-avian dinosaurs in his own world.
Known Weaknesses
- He is cunning but arrogant, tending to overestimate his ability to survive. It's not that he thinks he's invincible - it's that he thinks he can outsmart his opponent by default. Sometimes he is right. Sometimes he isn't.
- As previously stated, Solifire does not know how to change his form into something more humanoid, nor does he know how to make his coloration more subtle. The thought of hiding himself or changing his appearance in any way offends him. He doesn't see the point of a 'secret identity' though this has been explained to him.
- Either due to size or age, Solifire is relatively weak. His scales are not impenetrable. His horns can - and have - been broken off. His talons are sharp, but nothing magical that can cut through steel.
- He has paws with bird-like talons on them. He can't manipulate things with them like a human can, so any technological interface made with a humanoid body plan in mind is frustrating to him. Theoretically, he might be able to levitate a pencil or a pen to write with it, but this too, he finds frustrating. He typically applies more pressure than is needed for writing and ends up stabbing it through the paper. If there's any paperwork to be done, he won't be the one to do it.
- He finds books equally frustrating to manipulate, and has had to be taught the English language.
- He has vaguely stated that there are 'consequences' when he absorbs too much energy. He has never said directly what they are, only indicated that he has a good gauge on how much he can handle. Given his arrogance, this might bear some monitoring.
- His teleportation skills do not extend to the teleportation of himself or any living creature, and neither can he store living things in his pocket dimension without the subject withering. To the extent that he can enchant objects, it is limited by his own magical knowledge; he can't make an object do something that he himself can't do.
Psychological Profile
- Solifire does not seem to care that he is surrounded by people very different from him, in a world where walking on four legs is equated to that of an unintelligent animal; he likes what he is and how he looks, and does not want to change. He is irritated by those who mistake him for a magical pet following whatever humanoid hero he partners with, but simply opening his mouth corrects this misconception.
- He is flattered when anyone brings up stories of medieval dragons burning down homes and gathering piles of gold, but doesn't seem inclined to do this himself. He's aware of the legal laws surrounding behavior, and seemed to have some idea (even before he was informed of this) that immediately attacking a stranger without cause would be unwise. Repeatedly goading him or disrespecting may get him to threaten or posture, but he won't, ultimately, attack unless the law allows him to.
- He is blunt and not terribly empathetic. Unexpected displays of physical affection or attempting to push his boundaries makes him uncomfortable to the extent that he may interpret this as an attack, with unpredictable results.

OOC

- This is meant to be something that a character could find out about Solifire if they bothered to search for information on him. It's not necessarily easily accessible, like a wikipedia page, but it is there if they have access to police files. (It also lacks some information that might become obvious after interacting with him for a while.)
