In reality, Alex is a mutant with power to breakdown her wealth to grant strength and healing. She runs a shipping/smuggling operation in the Isles but moonlights as a hero for her own goals. Business runs through her veins and she sees the value in everything, including people. Thus, despite living in a harsh environment she doesn't like killing if can help it.
