The Providence Society
With roots dating back to the early days of the New England Colonies, the Providence Society is one of the oldest social clubs in America. It boasts industrialists and philanthropists among its ranks: the movers and shakers of the nation. Its headquarters is located in an affluent Founders’ Falls mansion, having moved to Paragon City from Providence when the former overtook the latter as the heart of Rhode Island.
As far as the public knows, the Providence Society is just another exclusive membership organization, a playground for the wealthy. Even regular club members are unware that a core group operates the secretive and shadowy Court of Suits: these Kings, Queens, and Jacks, see themselves as the true and the strong—the only ones with the vision and the power to mete out divine providence.
