- "For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God
- - Romans 3:23
Born in the Etoile Isles, twelve years following the assassination of President Marchand and Lord Recluse seizing control of the Isles and enacting his particular strain of militaristic Darwinism upon the people, life was not easy for the young Adam. His parents barely striving to meet end's meet while villains roamed with impunity, stealing and destroying to their heart's content planted the groundwork for a jaded streak which would linger until much later in his life. By the time he was in his early-to-mid-teens he spent much of his time outside of school working with his father or uncles at the docks or the mines in order to provide a bit more money to the family.

- "I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears."
