'''Murkwing''' is a male villain native to another reality and who currently resides on Primal Earth.

==In-game biography==
==Description==
''"You see before you what seems to be a young-looking demon, possibly in his late teens or older. His head is crowned by a crest of spikes, while from his back two large black wings emerge, beneath them a black tail with crimson edges. Bright white flames burst from sockets where eyes once resided, exuding light akin to that of a star, and you gaze at it you can't help but feel judgement..."''
===In-game===
''"Murkwing is an aspect of Adartemos, in turn an emanation of Areunos, the Platonic form of struggle native to an alternate Earth. Sent out to experience other realities, he eventually arrived at Primal Earth, where he adopted its trends and took on the alias of "Murkwing". His own nature as testing god often creates conflict with Primal Earth's heroes, who perceive his methods as immoral and harmful. But for Murkwing this is good, as their trespass into his affairs will test his own mettle, and glorify him even further."''

==Biography==
===Full version===
Born around 19 years ago to the Portuguese villain known as the Moira Ondina, Aires Faria grew up completely unaware of his mother’s criminal activities or the fact that she was a demon, his own demonic nature hidden away by spells that delayed the growth of any demonic appendages. This however, came to an end a few days after his sixteenth birthday.
''"Bright-eyed in both the literal and figurative sense, Murkwing is an aspect of Adartemos, who is in turn an emanation of Areunos, the Platonic form of struggle native to an alternate universe. Generated so that Adartemos could experience things beyond his own universe, this aspect roamed many universes until he arrived at one which intrigued him - Primal Earth, whereupon he adapted to its fads and took on "Murkwing" as an alias, using the meaning of his name as the basis.''

As while his mother was a human-turned-demon, his father had been a rogue star from another reality, and that part of his nature revealed itself most violently. From the inside out, Aires burned with light and fire, all the enchantments placed on him by his mother turning to cinders in mere instants. What followed was a painful metamorphosis, as parts that had been meant to gradually grow over years suddenly grew in the span of minutes. When this was over, Aires was left bloodied and unconscious, his skin scarred by inner fires and swollen in the areas where new appendages had grown, while his eyes had been burned away and turned into flames of light and law.
''While a spirit driven by curiosity, his own nature as a god who tests mortals with toil and hardship often leads him into conflict with those who regard his actions as immoral and harmful, primarily the so-called heroes of Primal Earth. But for Murkwing this is good, as their trespass into his affairs will too test his own mettle, and lead him unto greater heights."''

When he finally woke, Aires felt only pain and a maddening hunger. Driven by instinct and bereft of reason, Aires remembers not what happened in the coming hours. When he finally regained self-awareness, it was to his hometown and its surrounding countryside ravaged, but the hunger sated. Hiding away, it wasn’t long before the strange hunger returned. Stealing away a few fruits and vegetables from the unscathed farms was easy enough, yet during the act of stealing, Aires realized that his hunger had receded. A thought emerged on his mind, and testing his theory with a bit of vandalism, it was confirmed - he now fed on doing or observing acts he saw as immoral.

As each feeding began to provide an increasingly pleasurable rush, survival quickly turned to hedonism. It wasn't long before Portugal became too small a playground, and Aires turned his eyes and wings to the Rogue Isles in the west.
===Names and epithets===
A major deity in his home reality, the mythological and historical actions of Murkwing as well as local conceptions of his figure have led to the accumulation of various epithets which would be used to better describe Adartemos within various contexts. These can be split into two categories - descriptive (in that they relate to Murkwing's features) and aspectual (in that they relate to Murkwing's roles and acts).
====Descriptive====
*'''Adartemos''' ("Black-Winged" or "Murk-Winged"): epithet earned due to the colour of his wings, and which he adopted as his primary name. It was also used as the basis for his alias on Primal Earth.
*'''Adarktis''': compound meaning either "winged serpent" or "dragon", earned by both Adartemos's fondness for dragons, and his subsequent adoption of draconic elements for his physical form.
*'''Lukanakis''' ("of the bright eyes"): a descriptive epithet earned due to Adartemos's characteristic shining eyes.

'''''Notes''':''
====Aspectual====
*''Treat as immortal. Was confirmed killed by a task force of novice heroes, but re-emerged a month later. Proceeded to systematically hunt down and kill all those involved in the span of two months.''
*'''Atanervero''' ("Father of Wild Men"): as the source of the curse of therianthropy, Adartemos is recognized as the "father" of all involuntary shapeshifters.
*''Visual reports indicate the flames emerging from his eyes sometimes assume a blue-green tone. Reason to why is currently unknown;''
*'''Inviétor''' ("Hunter" or "Challenger"): one of the more infamous of Adartemos's methods of testing mortals is by abducting them and pitting them against each other in war games within his realm. In one variant of these games, Adartemos would personally hunt down his abductees, earning him the appellation of "Inviétor". Those who survived the night would then be released and granted great blessings.
*'''Marmaros''' ("Whisperer"): name given to Adartemos due to his tendency to cause strife by manipulating individuals.
*'''Olodehmós''' ("Abolisher of Nations"): in myths, Adartemos often joined the skirmishes between armies, sometimes fighting for one side and sometimes for neither, often with destructive results. As a result, many kingdoms and empires have fallen due to his (more often than not, unwanted) interventions.

Due to his divine nature, Murkwing is unable to connect emotionally with mortal concepts of morality. Conversely, a life characterized by indolence, stagnation, and a lack of self-improvement is the closest thing resembling a "moral evil" in Murkwing's mentality.

Names and epithets

A major deity in his home reality, the mythological and historical actions of Murkwing as well as local conceptions of his figure have led to the accumulation of various epithets which would be used to better describe Adartemos within various contexts. These can be split into two categories - descriptive (in that they relate to Murkwing's features) and aspectual (in that they relate to Murkwing's roles and acts).

Descriptive

  • Adartemos ("Black-Winged" or "Murk-Winged"): epithet earned due to the colour of his wings, and which he adopted as his primary name. It was also used as the basis for his alias on Primal Earth.
  • Adarktis: compound meaning either "winged serpent" or "dragon", earned by both Adartemos's fondness for dragons, and his subsequent adoption of draconic elements for his physical form.
  • Lukanakis ("of the bright eyes"): a descriptive epithet earned due to Adartemos's characteristic shining eyes.

Aspectual

  • Atanervero ("Father of Wild Men"): as the source of the curse of therianthropy, Adartemos is recognized as the "father" of all involuntary shapeshifters.
  • Inviétor ("Hunter" or "Challenger"): one of the more infamous of Adartemos's methods of testing mortals is by abducting them and pitting them against each other in war games within his realm. In one variant of these games, Adartemos would personally hunt down his abductees, earning him the appellation of "Inviétor". Personality

Despite his domain, epithets, and seemingly aloof appearance, Murkwing possesses a somewhat sanguine and buoyant demeanour. Even if not contributing to an ongoing conversation, Murkwing enjoys being in the company of others, and particularly dislikes prologued periods of solitude. An aspect spawned for the purpose of exploration and learning, Murkwing is also naturally curious and eager to experience new things. Due to his divine nature, Murkwing is unable to connect emotionally with mortal concepts of morality.
