Ana's Tale

This village is part of a 'lost' tribe of Inca descendants living off the land for centuries. They have little use for modern technology and prefer to keep to themselves. The tribe's warriors are known as 'fantasmas' ('ghosts' in Inglès), and they are shown how to 'disappear' from their enemies' view - not unlike my niece. The redheaded priestesses of the tribe are said to be the daughters of Mama Quilla, the Moon Mother and wife of Inti, the Sun God... yes, I know, I am a redhead...

Part of the priestesses' duties is to go forth and learn about the 'outside world', but when it came time for our mother to go... she decided not to return to the tribe. She hid from the 'fantasmas' the tribe sent after her until they either lost her trace or gave up on her. She settled in Recife under an assumed name, and that's where she met our father and my younger sister, Maria, and I were born.... yes, Maria was Bea's mother...
