Biography
Early Life
Wendy Liu Longman-Wu was born and grew up in New York City. She first discovered her powers when she and her mother were assaulted while on a walk through Central Park. They managed to take out the attackers, but not before her mother took a serious beating, later dying from her injuries. Bound to a vow that such a thing will never again happen while she's present, Wendy took to training her talents before taking to the streets to defend those who can not fend for themselves.
SUPA
In the mid 1980s Wendy linked up with other heroes in her hometown of New York, forming the Super Group known as SUPA. Over the years SUPA faced it's share of other worldly threats, including the Slender Man* and Vastator*. The Slender Man ruled a shadow dimension from which he reached across worlds to corrupt and drain human souls. For unknown reasons when he reached out and pulled an entire subway train into his dimension Willow was there through a dream. When she phased through the train to investigate what was causing the disturbance brought on by the transfer from one dimension to the next it severed the dreamland connection. Linking up with her teammates they found a way into the Slender Man's world. He was defeated, but the train passengers where not recovered, having already been warped into creatures of the Shadow World.
Vastator, unlike the Slender Man, had no interest in drawing people into his realm to warp them into his image, but instead was/is a destroyer of dimensions, similar to Rularuu in his thirst for conquest. Unlike Rularuu he does not consume dimensions, but does in the process of taking them over warp them beyond comprehension. After parrying several attempts to enter Primal Earth SUPA took the fight into an adjacent dimension that Vastator had conquered.
Towards the end of her career with SUPA one of the group's chief rivals, former Soviet scientist codenamed Engram*, cloned Willow, splicing DNA from an unknown source into the mix. SUPA defeated this villain and the child was taken in and raised by Willow/Wendy. Wendy named her Sarah.
Paragon City
Shortly after SUPA defeated Vastator Wendy left the group and moved to Paragon City where she helped found Paragon SUPA. While she is looked up to by the junior members of the group Willow has on numerous occasions turned down the role as head of the organization. She does, however, keep a strong eye on things to make sure it's members adhere to the SUPA motto of Supers United to Protect Anybody... as coined by SUPA New York's co-leader Jamie Justice** who is pure of heart and may well surpass Statesman in power, but rather simple minded.
Notes
.* These characters are the works of the Game Master who ran the Champions PnP campaigns where Willow first appeared. Any resemblance to any characters within the City of Heroes Lore is purely coincidental. The stories of the Slender Man and Vastator are presented from memory, with some modifications to fit with Willow's presence in Paragon City. Engram's cloning of Willow did not occur during these PnP campaigns.
.** Jaime Justice and SUPA are the creation of one of the players in the second PnP campaign Willow appeared in.
