Most of her family was killed in front of her and she was too small and powerless to do anything about it. An offworlder dropped in and absolutely devastated the Rikti assault force, helped her hook up with other survivors, and... he gave her a wish. She doesn't remember the details but after the lightshow and the shouting she asked to be strong like the stranger. Ever since, she's grown stronger and stronger. Don't let her size fool you- she can rip a tank in half and punt it into orbit.
