Necromantrix: The Lich Queen
Sasha Blackwood had always been drawn to the shadows. Born into a lineage of witches tracing back to the old covens of England, magic was in her blood. Growing up in New England, she studied the mystical arts under the watchful eyes of her family, yet where others saw magic as a sacred duty, Sasha saw it as a means to power.
As she grew older, her fascination with the occult deepened, but it was necromancy—the power over life and death—that truly captivated her. It was more than an interest; it was an obsession. She believed that through the mastery of death, she could transcend mortality itself.
Her coven, alarmed by her pursuits, forbade her from delving deeper into the dark arts. But Sasha was never one to be told no.
The Path to Lichdom
Defying her family, Sasha abandoned her home and sought out those who could teach her the forbidden knowledge she craved. Her journey took her across the world—from the shadowed halls of occult libraries to hidden sanctuaries of death-worshipping cults. She bartered with warlocks, studied with exiled necromancers, and deciphered ancient grimoires that had long been forgotten.
Eventually, she uncovered the ultimate secret: the ritual to achieve **Lichdom**—a state of undeath that would make her immortal and grant her power beyond imagination.
Returning to her modest apartment in Kings Row, she prepared the ritual. The process was long, requiring weeks of preparation, rare ingredients, and the crafting of a **phylactery**, a mystical vessel that would anchor her soul to the material world. She forged it in the form of a brass cage, inscribed with eldritch sigils, believing it would safeguard her existence for eternity.
On the night of the ritual, everything changed.
As she completed the final incantation, a surge of necrotic energy erupted from the circle. Death itself was **torn open**, flooding Kings Row with its corrupting influence. The pulse spread outward, **awakening the dead** across the city. What was meant to be her ascension had instead caused an **undead apocalypse**.
Heroes rushed to contain the catastrophe as the streets filled with shambling corpses. War Walls locked down the city zone, and an emergency effort was launched to push back the tide of undeath. But at the heart of it all, **Sasha Blackwood lay lifeless**—the final cost of her reckless ambition.
Rebirth in Death
Sasha awoke in the morgue of Crowne Memorial Hospital, naked and alone. She felt no heartbeat, no breath, no warmth. Gazing into a nearby mirror, she was met with her reflection—**pale, translucent skin, glowing white eyes, and an eerie, deathly beauty**.
She had done it.
The ritual had worked.
She was **a Lich.**
But something had gone wrong. **Her soul had been bound to the brass cage.** Without it, she could be destroyed. Worse yet, it had been **taken by MAGI**, Paragon City’s leading magical authority.
She had to reclaim it—at any cost.
The Raid on MAGI
Under the cover of night, Sasha returned to Kings Row, only to find her home ransacked. Her belongings were gone, but through her necromantic senses, she felt **her phylactery’s pull**—it was in **Atlas Park, inside City Hall.**
MAGI had taken it.
Summoning an army of undead, she **laid siege to City Hall**, overwhelming the night security. She breached the vault, seized her phylactery, and disappeared into the night.
With her soul once again secure, Sasha knew she could no longer remain in Paragon City. The city’s heroes would hunt her down, and her former coven would see her existence as an **abomination.**
She needed a sanctuary.
There was only one place in the world where **power ruled above all else**—**The Rogue Isles.**
The Lich Queen of Sharkhead Isle
Smuggling herself into the Etoile Islands, Sasha arrived in **Sharkhead Isle’s Potter’s Field**, a vast graveyard brimming with corpses—an **endless supply of minions** for a necromancer.
Here, she took on her new name: **Necromantrix, the Lich Queen.**
With time, she grew in power, carving out a place for herself among the Rogue Isles’ mystical elite. Her rise did not go unnoticed—**Ghost Widow**, Arachnos’ spectral lieutenant, took an interest in her talents, offering to **teach her the art of Soul Mastery.** Sasha accepted, deepening her connection to undeath and the spectral realm.
Her abilities expanded—beyond necromancy, she mastered flight, teleportation, and dark arcane forces. Now, with her army of the dead and the knowledge of ancient magics, **Necromantrix stands as one of the most feared necromancers in the world.**
- **Will She Rule… or Be Destroyed?**
Despite her exile, Sasha still hungers for more. She seeks to push the boundaries of undeath, uncovering the secrets of immortality that even Liches dare not speak of. But she also knows that **Paragon City will never forget what she did**—the heroes who stopped her once **will come for her again.**
For now, she builds her empire in the shadows. The dead whisper her name in hushed reverence.
She is **Necromantrix**.
The Lich Queen of the Rogue Isles.
And she is **only just beginning.**
