Barbara Hellsdotr has had a complicated past, an intriguing present, and a promising future as a villain in the Isles - if she can ever get away from her merry band of idiots, that is. She is represented by a level 50 Demons/Fire Mastermind presently, though a previous alt (Barb Kamiya) was a Poison/Archery Defender, and before that a Ninjas/Poison MM.

Background and History

Barb was initially raised solely by her mother, with the help of her hidden ninja village. The training through her youth led her, early on, to a mastery of stealth and combat, but without much practical application for a modern world that largely had no remaining need for such things. Fortunately, her mother also was the village apothecary, and kept up with many modern advancements, both in medicines and poisons. Sakura taught her daughter the difference between the two (and the narrow gap therein), and Barb came to realize that she wanted to know even more. When it was time, Barb left her village with three goals in mind: Attend university, bring jobs to her village, and find out more about the world outside of it.

She only succeeded at one of them.

Superbly, though! Barb spent seven years in college, plowing through more classes than should have even been possible to sign up for, keeping up on them all, passing with flying colors, and managing a Masters ... and then another one, and a third, to boot. All focused around her true passion, chemistry, Barb chewed up and spat out every course the university had to throw at her, to the point where she was having to turn down job offers and teaching positions daily. For her, it was never about a career path. She just wanted to understand chemical compounds, formula makeup, and the ins and outs of the organic and inorganic.

Which is when she found the Entropy Legion.

Recruited with promises of further chemistry experiments, the likes of which the university (and, well, the government) would not allow, Barb joined up with a group of self-decreed villains, though truthfully they were more a cadre of misfits operating out of an abandoned Arachnos facility near the Isles. There, she met and .. befriended? .. several of its members, and tolerates their ineptitude as long as it allows her to bankroll her experiments. An unfortunate incident saw the bulk of the Legion removed to Europe, with Barb as one of the few who made it back to the US and their base. While there, however, she speedran another university track and obtained a doctorate to go with her degrees, and is functionally a medic, an alchemist, a chemist, you name it she can brew it.

Then she died.

The Legion doesn't know it, but Barb died in a lab explosion, which was caused by unknown factors. Due to her callous, cold-blooded murder of dozens of people, for profit, she awoke in Hell... but it turned out she was not there for eternal torment. At least, not directly. She appeared directly before her Hell's overlord - Satan, Old Scratch, Beelzebub, Lucifer, all the names apply, here. The master of damnation took all memory of her life, but restored the memory of her birth: It turns out, she is one of his many daughters, who her mother had escaped with after winning a bet with him. But this knowledge was wiped, along with the rest. For an untold, hell-bound period, she reigned over Hell alongside her father, administering torment and doling out punishment to sinners. She established a sub-realm, called Heck, where punishments are less tormentious, but more annoying, owing to some small subset of her subconscious still holding onto memory of her Legion. Eventually, the memories broke in more and more, and in a panic she fled back to the mortal realm, where she reappeared in the Legion base, only days after her death, before anyone had even discovered her corpse. Through a series of interesting events, she regained her memory, and then settled a lawsuit with her father to regain her life, and has returned to practicing her alchemical experiments and supporting the Legion from behind the scenes.

Powers and Abilities

Barb holds a number of masteries, owing to her skill and training, learning and study, and the nature of her birth. She is still pretty stealthy and agile, though with her Hell powers, she generally doesn't need to sprint around and leap from tree to tree. She still makes tremendous use of her chemistry knowledge, experimenting and studying new facets of her expertise all the time. She can transform into a full-devil form, which is usually only necessary when her power is being suppressed in some way, or if she is thoroughly enraged it can occur. Barb has a nonlinear view of time, which she can suspend for hanging out with mortals and engaging in the real world, but it is from her inborn abilities. Dilations of time are not her forte but when she is in Hell she can bend time to extend the torment of mortal souls, and she can shorten it as well - though who wants that?

With the discovery of her origin, Barb also learned of the dimensions adjacent to the mortal realm, and discovered a number of ones other than "her" Hell. In fact, the mortal realm is host to a wide variety of sub-realms, side-realms, afterlives and soul repositories, the likes of which are mostly tied to humans' various mythologies, but there are some out there unimagined by even the most deranged of minds. She used this knowledge, her Hell powers, and her intellect to create and establish Heck, a sub-domain of her Hell from which she can lord over more minor torments and afterlife punishments, for the danged (as opposed to the truly damned) - taking a tremendous workload off her father's hands and freeing him up to be more hands-on with very specific sinners, as well as attending more negotiations for the souls of the deceased bound for other realms.

Personality and Current Life

A very serious individual, usually, Barb spends a lot of her time in her labs, which she has set up out around the Isles - partly to keep them from being found by authorities, partly to keep the Legion from messing up her stuff - experimenting and trying new chemical compounds. When she goes to spend time with the Legion, she gets the occasional smile or chuckle, and when she gets an opportunity to let some of her homestyle out, a little sadistic grin shows through, and her voice takes on her devilish edge. While the current leader of the Entropy Legion is NOT her, it could definitely be said that if she was not handling a number of things for them behind the scenes, they would be out of a home base and hurting terribly for essentials.

Defense: Agile, alert, and able to dodge many attacks outside of actual gunfire. Go ahead. Kill her. She'll be back in an hour, and MAD AT YOU. Combat: In her prime, able to go toe-to-toe with some of the world's best martial artists, even unarmed. If anything, Full-devil form would take this down a peg. Agency: Always capable, always intelligent, always thinking. The primary factor holding her back from taking care of most of the things in her life are her friends.
