Origin If you ever wondered why it is so rare to see anyone in a wheelchair in Paragon City, much of that is because of Sadie Abendroth. Sadie was born with congenital myopathy, a condition where muscles don't develop normally. She also had telekinesis. Able to move things with her mind, including levitation, she didn’t always need a wheelchair, but using her powers on their own is tiring. She began tinkering with her wheelchair as a child. By age 12, her ‘wheelchair’ was more like a robotic crab. Her telekinesis also allows her to feel things remotely, including people’s nervous systems. With her software and hardware expertise and her natural insights in customizing tech to biofeedback, she was uniquely gifted to help people with physical disabilities including injured heroes. Her nonprofit has helped thousands with advanced prosthetics from more humanoid ones to her favored crab models.
Powers Sadie has telekinesis with a magic origin. She augments this with technology ranging from typical cybernetics to mechs. Largely her suits/mechs are not operable without the use of her highly precise telekinesis. The models she makes for others are constructed very differently, primarily using biofeedback. Sadie’s extant models and details: Medium Crab 12.2
Biped 7.0
Giant Spider Crab 3.0
Trivia Sadie is a tireless advocate for accessibility, for whatever mode of accessibility technology an individual might prefer. She only reluctantly uses a bipedal form "due to chronic inadequacies in building accessibility...." (Though some might counter that the issue is as much that even her smallest crab is 2 meters wide). Sadie is personally more comfortable in crab form. If you'd like to make a bad impression on her, commenting on her looking better when bipedal is a surefire way. |
