Enchantress cannot remember much of her life. In fact, she had to be told where she was found, nestled among the pumpkins in a patch in Croatoa — a quiet baby with a gemstone wrapped in her tiny fist — and even then it didn't really provide much light on her origin. The witch that found her gave her to one of the orphanages in Croatoa, and she was then given her name: Elora Dane. Her life, much like her history, felt uneventful up to a point. Naturally gifted in mana manipulation and magic; she excelled in those studies but found herself oddly detached from everything else. While she had the power to divine anything, she could never figure out her parents with this ability. She could pinpoint the location of anyone on a map with a crystal and a few uttered words, and yet couldn't ever get that crystal to fall anywhere when she tried to ask about her birthplace. It felt as if she were somehow cursed, left to never know exactly who she it was that she was before the witch found her in the pumpkins.
Instead of chasing the past any further, she decided to embrace her future. No more time spent pining after parents who obviously hadn't wanted her; time now to focus on the magic that did want her. Her ability to draw from leylines was unparalleled and often a curiosity among the community of mages she lived with. Gifted the name Enchantress by those who met her — both for her magical ability and for the fact that she was, in fact, quite charming — she decided to don a costume, use her powers, and go into the world with a zest for everything laid out before her.
