Every story and tale has its fallen tragedy and sorrow. One that can shape a person into becoming the worst that none would suspect or expect.
In the early 90s, there was a colorful, heroic, and graceful superhero couple duo, the husband Steven Style was a happy-go-lucky hero known as Captain Bright with his superheroine wife Light Star. During a time when most costumed heroes went from the brightest to darkest, Steven attempted to advertise and become the sparkling light to bring back the idealistic heroes and optimism that was missing quite a while due to sudden changes during the period. Despite most attempts seems to be failing, nevertheless. He didn't stop to continue with his wife as well, both believing mutually that they uphold a moral compass of never taking one's life, no matter how evil the person is. To their belief that they could one day hope to bring back the times when heroes were at their peak and brightest. To hope to shine a flaming divinity up to the skies.
They continued their adventures through any form of advocation, such as telling the younger audience to eat their vegetables and stay sharp and bright, trying to help other heroes who are in the darkest hours, to continue trying to spark the light furthermore, cheesy puns and one-liners straight from a silver age comic book, and other means of optimistic mannerisms. Despite any attempts, they managed. The couple continued and even had a public wedding where heroes and alike attended to it to further strengthen the hope of heroism. Steven hoped that one day they could retire and advertise other means without beating up costumed villains every day to advocate heroic changes. To do what's right to bring back the good old days of heroism.
As his wife was planning to retire with her husband, in favor of his husband's beliefs. They decided to fight crime one last time as their official retirement. They tried to apprehend a villain of theirs named Professor Mind, a friend's foe with gizmo technology and super-intellect. Nevertheless, the battle was quite big but seemed to gain the upper hand against the villain, until Steven has gotten himself into a tight spot and a situation. Where Professor Mind may gain the chance to end his crusade once and for all, that was until his superheroine wife jumped in and sacrificed herself to save her beloved's life, brutally murdered right in front of him.
He went into a rageful state and beat his enemy to oblivion until the police showed up. A couple of days after the tragic night, a court was held to determine the situation and the villain was deemed criminally insane instead and seen as a tragedy of circumstance of an action he had no control of. Steven on the other hand was deemed as uncontrollable and menacing by some after the incident. Though the charges were dropped due to his loss of his wife claimed that he simply "suffered enough". The villain now bruised badly was instead sent to rehabilitation and psychiatric help to be part of society once again. Steven was forced to retire his superhero due to established law in the states after breaking a constitution that involves upholding the laws of being a registered hero, effective immediately.
Steven lost it all, his occupation, his finances went down to waste, his reputation has fallen apart flat beyond repair, the villain got away yet again, and his wife was tragically murdered right in front of him in cold blood. Her funeral was held with her family attending to it and some such as her mother blamed her for her loss and yelled that she would've been better off not with somebody like him. An atmosphere changed and furthering a lot more painful that her family cut him off contact completely, permanently as well. He was now all alone, broken, lost, sadden, and unfortunately, angered. Months go by while he's in a depressive state and disillusionment of believing that everything he has done was all meaningless, hopeless, and useless. All but suffering and sadness for Steven for just being good.
As he was thinking to himself, he realized that morality and code of upholding the brightness of heroism of not breaking the rule are just merely a child fantasy constructed to teach them how to behave and sees optimism as nothing but blindness to what he believes is the coldest truth of reality. Believing that he lost his wife because the code they uphold bit them hard and that it would've been easier to finish the job quicker and permanent. He began to become intensely delusional into believing that the only option to bring justice is through his own hands by doing the very thing he promised not to do. Steven began to train himself a lot harder than he usually was, smuggling in a variety of weapons such as a giant ax, and decides to take the role as an executioner quite literally and proudly doing so as well.
He took upon the persona of a headsman and decided to wage war against crimes and supernaturals that evokes villainy, lost his sense of reality but now only thirst and hunger for retribution and vengeance against the concept of evil by punishing them through his antics of executing his enemies in cold-blood, becoming what he would be named as the Tyburn. Named after a location to invoke punishment. Creating an intense reputation in the underworld often feared by many even within supernatural communities for his crusade to execute others that he deems as evil and punishable to his judgment, creating myths and tales of his journies of murdering criminals in the slums of Paragon City at night. He continues his mission to punish many villains as he can find and often come across many confrontations with both heroes and villains.
To make matter worse, his whole adventures from being the brightest hero to darkest vigilant has been documented and told many times to this day forward to any history channels to remind many people when the justice system failed to bring justice to Steven when he needed it the most, he has managed to change his identity many times to avoid the eyes of the Police Department's grasp and numerous of attempts of manhunt but failed horribly. Steven to this day often acts mysterious and shows up at night and unexpectedly surprises his victims before brutally murdering him in cold blood, he continues his insane vigilantism nonetheless whenever the public agrees on it or not. Steven now as The Tyburn believes that this is duty from now on, to continue his crusade against crime by executing many threats as possible brutally with no care.
