He had no powers, no mutations, no enhancements—just a dream of becoming a hero like the ones in the news when he was a kid. Every day he’d watch heroes soar through the skies and promise himself he’d join them someday, somehow.

That dream turned dangerous when he stumbled upon an offer that promised to make him “more than human.” It came from what he thought was a legitimate research initiative under the Hero Science Division, but it was, in truth, an Arachnos front operating deep within the Rogue Isles. The project, code-named S.P.E.C.T. (Sentinel Powered Exosuit for Combat and Tactics), was meant to create a new breed of loyal, enhanced soldiers—humans who could pilot advanced exosuits designed for full synchronization between body and machine.

He volunteered eagerly, believing it would make him a protector. What he didn’t know was that the “compatibility” procedure was actually a neural override system—a way to erase free will and replace it with Arachnos command loyalty. The process reached about 75% completion before disaster struck. A Council strike team raided the facility, attempting to steal the prototype suit for themselves. The chaos disrupted the synchronization chamber, sending power surges through the system. Somehow, that partial synchronization worked in his favor: the control link broke before it could overwrite his mind. Confused and terrified, he instinctively activated the S.P.E.C.T. suit. Flames burst from the armor’s energy vents as he fought his way through both Arachnos operatives and Council soldiers, the armor’s onboard AI guiding his survival. When the smoke cleared, the facility was in ruins, and the billion-credit prototype was gone—along with its test subject.
