Demisexual refers to people who can only experience sexual attraction after forming a strong emotional connection with another. It is considered to be "between" asexuality and sexuality. It's not to be confused with a conscious decision to not engage in sexual relations with someone they don't know well; that usually is predicated on attraction in the first place rather than only after forming an emotional connection.
