Story
Born and raised in the heartland of America, Calvin Simmons finds himself ousted from his conservative-leaning hometown community when his powers manifested during a high school PE class. Finding little choice in places he could go, or people he could turn to, Calvin reached out to a counselor he'd known since his childhood-- and was soon put in contact with Richard McCall, a retired superhero. Sympathizing with Calvin's plight, Mr. McCall invited him to move to Paragon City, where he could explore the potential of his mutation without judgement or interference. Encouraged by this unexpected support, Calvin set his sights on using his unusual gifts for the greater good-- much like the big city heroes he had only previously read about in the newspapers or seen on television.

Information

• Cell Elasticity: All of Rubbound's body cells (including his skin, muscles, bones and organs) changed with his mutation. Despite his apparent bulk for his size, he is light-weight and inhumanly flexible, able to bend his body in unconventional ways. That said, Rubbound is still rigid enough to withstand a variety of physical impacts. With enough pulling force, his body can be stretched akin to a rubber-band, though he will snap back to his original shape if let go. Floats on water!
• Kinetic Absorption and Redirection: Rubbound is able to absorb or re-direct the energy created from physical impacts-- using it to enhance his resilience, strike back with some extra force (to make up for his lack of actual fighting experience), or purposefully get knocked away in order to rebound off a wall or object.
• Bouncing Leap: Rubbound is able to bound the distance of several city blocks in a single leap. His ability to absorb the impact of each landing increases his momentum with each bounce, and he can continue indefinitely until impeded by obstacles.

Associations

• Richard McCall: Formerly known as the Winged Man, a now-retired hero dedicating himself to philanthropic causes-- including a community center that bears his name. Richard and his connections have aided Calvin in getting settled in Paragon City.

Locations

• Polaris Apartments: Current residence, located in Skyway City's Astral District. There are unconfirmed rumors that the building is home to some number of other active superheroes, including Evapora and the Still Lotus.
• The McCall Challenge Center

• Is particular about wearing his "lucky" socks and sneakers, even when in costume.
• Is wary when it comes to the mention of magic.
