Shadow Wolf is a South Korean hero who recently appeared in Paragon City but has performed missions throughout the world. A consummate professional, he is quick and efficient with an excellent tactical mind. Young and handsome (behind the mask), rumors are stirring that he may be an actor or idol, but nothing has been confirmed.

He is a highly trained fighter with superhuman strength, agility and durability. In addition, Shadow Wolf can generate and manipulate negatively charged energy usually manifested as solidified energy blades and a kinetic force field.

BACKGROUND

Ye Jun is the oldest child of Jun Young and Eun Ju Lee. A colonel for the South Korean Army and a career officer, Jun Young was heavily involved with NATO and the U.S. military. As such, he and his family lived all over the world. Extremely proud of his father, Ye Jun trained hard even as a child to become a soldier, even though his father discouraged him from a military career.

Ye Jun joined the military at age 18, as soon as he completed high school to fulfill his mandatory military conscription service. By this point, his negative energy powers had manifested and with his father’s guidance and training, Ye Jun was able to master his ever-increasing powers.

He served under his father’s regiment. During that time, all over the world, Ye Jun served as part of an elite special forces’ unit. He was part of a small covert military unit to engage other superpowered enemy combatants. Between missions, Ye Jun worked as Shadow Wolf wherever he was stationed as a vigilante. At first, Jun Young did not approve of his son’s secret vigilante work outside of his service in the military, but he accepted his son may contribute to the world better in this manner.

Rumors of Shadow Wolf and his exploits reached Korea, and he developed a large fanbase. Even with a mask, the fans could see he was young, handsome and fit, competing with famous KPOP idols in popularity. He became a common reference among Korean pop culture.

After five years of military service, his father convinced him not to continue his military career. After some self-reflection and guidance from his family, Ye Jun moved to Paragon City. He had received a full scholarship and would be able to showcase his superhero talents there. A side modeling and acting career (thanks to the KPOP popularity explosion) provided him with funds to finance his hero work.

When he was sworn in as an U.S. citizen, he officially added Jacob to his name to make it easier for new people to address him. Due to his exemplary service and his beneficial influence to Korea, he was permitted a very rare honor of maintaining a dual citizenship to South Korea and the United States. This dual citizenship affords him advantages in his work since he still closely works with NATO, FBSA and Korean military and intelligence.

APPEARANCE

Ye Jun looks like a KPOP idol. He’s incredibly handsome, fit (albeit a bit bulkier than the typical idol) and tall. As a professional model, he maintains a good exercise regime and takes of his physical appearance. Recently, he has noticed he does not need to work as much as his regenerative powers have slowed down his physical deterioration.

PERSONALITY

Due to his military training, Ye Jun is clean, organized and efficient in his work and activities. While in “work mode” as he likes to call it, he is focused and determined, minimizing idle chatter. In “play mode” he is personable, clever and witty. With a wide range of interests, he is decent striking up a conversation.

Ye Jun is somewhat a geek. During his time in the military, he spent considerable time playing video games, tabletop roleplaying games and watching American movies, Korean dramas and Japanese anime.

In school, he also excelled in athletics and sports. He is a big baseball fan and has been drawn into American football.

POWERS

Dark Energy Generation

Shadow Wolf generates what is referred to as Dark or Negative Energy. He can manipulate the energy into various uses but generally focuses the energy into blades and shields. His energy blades can be either solid, hard enough to cut heavy armor plating, or incorporeal allowing it to pass through and disrupt synaptic communication. To avoid killing, Shadow Wolf will keep them incorporeal against living foes. These energy blades can remain attached to his forearms, hands or thrown like knives but if thrown they will dissipate after a few seconds.

His other main usage of dark energy is defensive shielding. The energy can provide a strong deflection barrier against all types of attack, some being more effect than others. These shields can also create a debilitating aura that weakens foes while regenerating Shadow Wolf. Since the negative energy naturally builds shadows, it helps with stealth and concealment.

As his energy manipulation improved, Shadow Wolf can also project dark energy in the form of ranged blasts. He can also draw solid dark matter energy to lock foes in place. Another residual effect of his darkness control benefits him with perfect vision even in total darkness.

Superhuman Physical Attributes

When his body went through changes to channel dark energy, Shadow Wolf’s physiology also changed. His body became much more durable, stronger, faster, agile than what is considered peak human potential. Currently, he can lift around 5 tons, move at blinding speed, enough to dodge bullets. He also seems to have boundless energy with superhuman endurance.

With his incredible strength, he can leap incredible distances and run much like a speedster hero. With such heavy toll on his body, it has become more resilient to handle the additional strain.

REGENERATION

Through energy absorption, Shadow Wolf converts leeched energy to augment his own regenerative powers and energy. Even when not actively absorbing energy, Shadow Wolf heals four times faster than a person in peak physical health. This regeneration also heals many wounds that normally are fatal to normal humans.

He seems to almost have endless energy and maintains peak performance for extended periods. This peak performance also drives his mental function and capacity, allowing him to learn and adapt at incredible rates. This is the reason why Shadow Wolf has learned so many skills in such a relatively short span.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Special Forces Training

Five years in the military with specialized training in dozens of missions has made Shadow Wolf a finely tuned combatant. He is very knowledgeable of military tactics, strategy and operations. The training extends to proficiency in military equipment and vehicles. Shadow Wolf can fly aircraft, and drive tanks and water vessels.

Shadow Wolf has been involved in hostage extraction, reconnaissance, sabotage, target elimination, infiltration and asset protection. Most missions were classified.

He reached the rank of Captain while he was in the military.

Martial Arts

Shadow Wolf is an expert in multiple forms of martial arts and incorporates them into his fighting style. He is a master in Tae Kwon Do and boxing. He has advanced training in Judo, Muay Tai and continues to learn new techniques.

To help dodge attacks and be more versatile in combat, Shadow Wolf is a trained gymnast. Since he is superhuman, he is capable of very complex moves.

Forensic Science

Ye Jun is studying forensic science since he plans to have a career in law enforcement in some capacity. He is also majoring in Philosophy and dabbles in other science fields.

EQUIPMENT

His costume is threaded with a high-tech Kevlar weave that is resistant to tears and can deflect low caliber pistol rounds. It is very flexible and permits the wearer to move freely. It was specially designed by the military to augment Shadow Wolf’s dark energy powers.

Shadow Wolf also carries a variety of gadgets and tools that may assist him during his crime fighting patrols or missions.

Black Rose

Another hero out of South Korea, Black Rose also moved to Paragon City around the same time as Shadow Wolf. They are good friends due to their shared backgrounds and hang out outside their costumes. They do tend to keep a low profile since Black Rose was a former KPOP idol and Ye Jun looks like one and they both want to avoid unnecessary attention.
